Dashes of ragtime, country blues, rock 'n' roll and a blade of bluegrass, all cemented together with pint-sized Cherry's powerhouse, energy-a-plenty, smoky vocals.
Cherry Lee Mewis has a story to tell. She has something to say - and she tells it through her music, her way. She cut her teeth playing the rowdy bars and clubs in her hometown in north Wales from the age of 12, developing not only her powerful soulful voice, but her performance and style too.
Cherry’s tough girl persona has been born out of a passion for remaining true to herself, being around and entertaining adults from a young age, and from a childhood well acquainted with believing in yourself at whatever cost.
She has firmly secured her place as one of the rising stars on the UK music scene, sharing the stage with diverse artists such as Bernie 'Whitesnake' Marsden, Walter Trout, Robin Trower, Ronan Keating, Aled Jones and Albert Lee. She takes her music on the road all over the UK, Europe and the USA.
An ignitable and charismatic stage performer, Cherry is best experienced live with her band: Max Milligan (acoustic guitar), Robbie Stewart-Mathews (double bass & blues harp), Nick Slater (dobro), and Brian Greene (drums).
