Eliza Delf & The Wilderness are a dramatic new presence on the musical landscape. Their music joyfully trespasses across any notion of “genre”boundaries, combining elements of indie, gothic folk noir and art rock. Whilst Eliza’s voice and approach have been compared with Kate Bush, Florence Welsh, 90s-era Bowie and PJ Harvey we think there’s definitely some Siouxsie Sioux in the mix too.
Eliza will be showcasing music from the band's remarkable new album Feast, as well as featuring songs from their debut album Into the Wilderness, released to widespread acclaim in 2022.
You might have caught Eliza and the band when they supported Lady Nade at The Bear last year (and they also share a cello player with The Rabbitts who played in February). Their songs are tales of mystery and imagination, full of dark, fiercely untamed, imagery.
Playing live, it’s the flair, virtuosity, subtlety and creativity that are the hallmarks of their live performance – all underpinning Eliza’s dramatic and mesmerising vocals. At times hushed and fragile, at times soaring and spine-tingling but always captivating – Eliza commands the stage and captures the imagination of the audience.
“…she has taken her influences and made something her own from them. Anyone with a liking for alternative rock needs to hear this.”
“Absolutely superb.”
