The award-winning singer, guitarist and songwriter Jo' Buddy brings his versatile and dynamic trio to the The Bear for the second time. He is celebrating forty years on the road with his latest album, the internationally acclaimed Lockdown Sessions & Beyond, Vol. 1.
Jo' Buddy has a very individual style, and his laid-back music spreads the joy of life, being simultaneously raw, timeless, earthy and spiritual.
It’s a rich and spicy rattle 'n' roll gumbo - an organic melting pot of ragtime, swing, New Orleans rhythm and blues, swamp boogie, downhome blues, boogie-woogie, jump blues, Cajun, zydeco, gospel, soul, hillbilly, western swing, rock 'n' roll, rockabilly, ska, rocksteady, surf and garage rock, Latin grooves, heartfelt ballads, and even echoes of Western African rhythms and Spanish flamenco.
Joined by his excellent band (Matt Radford on bass and Jonathan Lee on drums), Jo Buddy’s versatile repertoire consists of his original world-class songs, and sounds like nobody else. He is a true music lover, who simply lives for his music and admires the Good Times.
Thousands of shows across sixteen countries and countless recording sessions have honed him as one of his generation’s most talented and outstanding roots rollers.
