Pianist and composer Paul Edis leads a lineup of multi-award-winning musicians to perform joyful, melodic and swinging music, rooted in the straight-ahead tradition.
Paul was based in North East England for over 15 years, where he established his first sextet and released two albums of original music: There Will Be Time and Mr Hipster. He toured both albums at various venues and festivals across the UK.
In the intervening years, he was involved in a variety of diverse musical projects and recordings away from the sextet, including a duo album with Vasilis Xenopoulos and writing, performing and recording new music with vocalist Jo Harrop.
Since moving to London in 2020, Paul has been inspired to write music for a new lineup, which includes Freddie Gavita (trumpet / flugel), Vasilis Xenopoulos (tenor and soprano sax), Rory Ingham (trombone), Adam King (double bass) and Joel Barford (drums).
