Drummer Robbie Ellison brings together the most decadently calorific cream of the London bebop crop (Steve Fishwick, Tom Smith, Fraser Smith, Adam Bishop, Joe Fenning and Darren McCarthy) to play his newfangled conceptions, and lend to them each individual’s unique improvisatory flair.
Robbie can be found playing all over London, the UK and throughout Europe as an in-demand (though perhaps overly-opinionated) member of the contemporary jazz community.
His compositions and arrangements draw upon a diverse range of influences, including the music of Dizzy Gillespie, Tadd Dameron, Mary Lou Williams, Gil Evans, Benny Golson and Slide Hampton, as well as classical composers Chopin, Mahler and Schoenberg.
