Ruby and the Dukes are a professional London-based vintage band, playing 40s and 50s rock 'n' roll, blues, RnB, rockabilly and retro swing.
The band plays classics by the likes of Ruth Brown, Varetta Dillard, Etta James, Wanda Jackson, LaVern Baker, Koko Taylor, Little Richard and Bill Haley, alongside contemporary hits by Imelda May, Stray Cats and Postmodern Jukebox.
Ruby is a vintage singer, originally from Florida but now based in South East London. The proud daughter of a WWII Veteran, her love of vintage fashion and music of the 40s and 50s started at a young age, and her passion for this era comes alive onstage in a powerfully electric performance.
Ruby will be joined by Jonny Gee on double bass (Ravi Shankar, Antonio Forcione, ZUM), Lynne Walker on saxophone (Limahl, Odyssey, Jools Holland Jazz Orchestra), Graham Cuttill on drums (The Foundations, Jimmy James and the Vagabonds, Edwin Starr) and Chris Thorn on guitar (Mint Royale).
