SCOTT LAVENE

A “bard of Essex”for a new generation, Scott Lavene is a born entertainer telling touching, often bizarrely surreal stories about everyday life. Lavene has long populated a hallucinogenic world of his own creation with ne’er do wells, ragamuffins and eccentrics with songs about fading love, talking horses, the attraction or otherwise of superstardom and the soothing effect of drinking custard straight from the carton.

He finds the humanity and the poignancy in all of the above and more. Listen to his exceptional third album Disneyland In Dagenham and we defy you not to be hooked by the originality and the catchiness of his songs.

Scott plays with backing tracks and loops, sometimes on piano, sometimes on guitar, even sometimes with his own keys player.

One not to miss.

Full of great poignant, funny and sad songs that display the man’s great writing talents. At times he’s David Bowie, Syd Barrett and Ian Dury at the same time.
— Louder Than War
Think Baxter Dury’s warped kid brother.
— The Times
… like The Beatles, but a little bit Tom Waits, a little bit Whitesnake, a little bit Chas & Dave, and a little bit power ballads.
— Scott Lavene
