We welcome Tango Jazz Quartet back to The Bear for a wonderful and creative collision of Argentinian tango and jazz.
The band magically captures the harmonies and improvisation of jazz, and blends them with the melodies and rhythms of tango. They have released 10 albums and embarked on 26 international tours, performing in the most prestigious jazz clubs and festivals across the world.
Their last project, ‘Synphonic Piazzolla’, celebrated the work of Astor Piazzolla - the great Argentinian tango composer and bandoneón player who revolutionised the traditional tango into a new style termed “nuevo tango”, incorporating elements from jazz and classical music.
The group returns with a new repertoire that, in addition to the work of Piazzolla, explores further traditional tango - especially the work of the great singer and composer, Carlos Gardel.
