If you were there for the opening night of Bear 2.0, you’ll know what a night it was… if not, then you’re in for a real treat. The Big Smoke Family are purveyors of voodoo funk - a unique mix of punchy horns, heavy street beats, chants, and samples.
Following in the footsteps of modern New Orleans funk bands such as Galactic and Trombone Shorty, and drawing inspiration from Mardi Gras Indians, James Brown, and The Meters.
They are electrifying live performers with credits which include Dr. John, Maceo Parker, and Ernest Ranglin, and their renowned show sees them regularly sell out Ronnie Scott’s, The Hootananny, London Jazz Festival and many more.
Following the release of their single Twitchy, they appeared at Ronnie Scott’s for three dates supporting Booker T Jones on the London leg of his UK tour.
