Continuing what promises to be a very big weekend at The Bear Club, The Big Smoke Family are purveyors of voodoo funk - a unique mix of punchy horns, heavy street beats, chants, and samples.
Following in the footsteps of modern New Orleans funk bands such as Galactic and Trombone Shorty, and drawing inspiration from Mardi Gras Indians, James Brown, and The Meters.
As those who have seen them perform here at The Bear in the past year or so can attest, they are electrifying live performers, with credits which include Dr. John, Maceo Parker, and Ernest Ranglin. Their renowned show sees them regularly sell out Ronnie Scott’s, The Hootananny, London Jazz Festival, and many more.
Following the release of their single 'Twitchy', they appeared at Ronnie Scott’s for three dates supporting Booker T Jones on the London leg of his UK tour.
