We are delighted to welcome The Soul Music Collective to The Bear, a local band of like-minded musicians and singers who love soul music. They have been performing together for just 6 years, but together they have musical experience of over 40 years.
As individual singers and musicians, they have performed on radio and TV and played for soul and gospel artists around the world.
It’s a family affair when it comes to the bass player and the singers - Kevin Simpson, the bandleader, is married to Elaine, and his sister is the other singer, Sonia.
They celebrate soul music as a whole and specifically the music of artists such as Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder.
With over 40 songs in their repertoire, there will definitely be something for you to sing and dance along to. To get the party started (and then to keep it going!), there will be a DJ set by GQ before and after the main act.
