Tranquility Beach is a duo from Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire. Their music fuses soulful vocals with overdriven guitar and percussion to produce tracks that blend modern rock, blues, folk, and soul. The band’s influences include Joni Mitchell, Sharon Van Etten, Lana Del Rey, as well as artists such as Xavier Rudd, Ben Harper, and the John Butler Trio.
Tranquility Beach’s live sets combine Molly’s immense vocals backed by Ben's overdriven lap steel. Despite consisting of only two musicians, the duo employs a variety of techniques to create a big, raw live sound from a more limited collection of instruments. Most of their tracks are built from percussion loops and big 'in-your-face' guitars, which create the stage for Molly's voice.
The pair began their songwriting journey in 2021 and are working towards the release of their first album, which they're creating in their makeshift home studio. In addition to gigging locally and in London, they have opened the show at a UK festival to an audience of several thousand for two years in a row. Molly’s writing and vocal style have also gained recognition on BBC Introducing East with a solo side project.
