These guys are the real deal... catch them before they hit the big time! This soul ensemble was formed as an instrumental recording project by producer and writer Holley Gray. Collaborating with guitarist Ross Ewart, drummer Chris Nickolls, and keys player Steve Pringle, Wonder 45 is dedicated to crafting authentic soul music from their suburban London base.
The band came into their own when they linked up with singer-songwriters Jess Greenfield and Gavin Conder, adding top-line vocal melodies which bring the songs to life.
Wonder 45's debut single, "Wonderland", released on Germany's Golden Rules label, earned the band accolades within the underground soul scene. Their latest single, "Cry", has been featured on BBC Radio 2 playlists and is receiving airplay worldwide.
Following in the footsteps of contemporary soul greats like Sharon Jones, Black Pumas, and Alabama Shakes, as well as legends Al Green and Aretha Franklin, the nine tracks on Wonderland are sincere affairs of the heart, crafted with tremendous loving care and the utmost attention to detail. The band's rich analogue production, powerful soulful performances, and heartfelt songwriting create an intimate experience that makes you feel like you're the only one in the room.
