We’re on the lookout for new bar staff

Are you passionate about live music and friendly customer service, and do you enjoy working in a busy and vibrant atmosphere? The Bear Club is Luton’s home of jazz, blues, and everything in between - including Drink and Draw, Happy Shark Comedy Club, Soul Food Poetry, private hire events, and Luton’s own Jazz Jam. We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic folks to join our hardworking bar team.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and serving a variety of drinks, including cocktails, craft beers, and specialty wines

  • Setting up the club ahead of opening, and closing up at the end of the night

  • Greeting and engaging with our customers, and the artists, to ensure everyone has the best time possible at the club

  • Ensuring the bar is stocked, clean, and well-organised

  • Handling payments and managing till operations accurately (card-only venue)

  • Supporting the team and the business during busy times, with opportunities for overtime

What we’re looking for

  • Must be 18 years or older, with the right to work in the UK

  • Previous bar or hospitality experience is essential (ideally one year minimum)

  • A friendly, positive attitude and strong communication skills

  • Ability to work as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure
