Internationally renowned Alina Bzhezhinska, one of the leading harpists in the world today, joins up with multi-award-winning British tenor sax hero Tony Kofi to celebrate the life, work and spiritual journey of Alice and John Coltrane - two legends of the jazz canon.
Having played in some of the greatest line-ups of the 50s, John is credited with pushing jazz forward into new territory in the late 50s and 60s, from bop into post-bop and free jazz, with albums such as Blue Train, Giant Steps and A Love Supreme.
Alice not only took forward John’s legacy, but created a strong and lasting one of her own, through her commitment to music and her life-long search for spiritual truth.
Supported by Bzhezhinska’s group HipHarp Collective (Mikele Montolli on bass, Joel Prime on percussion and Adam Teixeira on drums), Bzhezhinska and Kofi will celebrate the combined legacy of two of the most influential figures in the history of jazz as they perform classics from the Coltranes’ back catalogue.
