Benet McLean is perhaps the most exciting contemporary jazz violinist to emerge on the UK scene in recent years, and has received widespread praise for his innovative approach. He has an instantly recognisable style which blends a range of influences, including bebop, M-Base and blues.
Benet will be performing songs from his forthcoming new album, joined by his stellar quintet which features some of the biggest talents on the current UK jazz scene; Duncan Eagles on tenor sax, Liam Dunachie on piano and organ, Rio Kai on bass and Zoe Pascal on drums.
Benet has previously played with Omar, Julian Joseph, Steve Williamson, Troy Miller, Loose Tubes, Binker Golding, Orphy Robinson, Jean Toussaint, Cleveland Watkiss and Nightmares on Wax, and he has performed at numerous prestigious venues across London, the UK and further afield.
Expect plenty of soulful violin wizardry, high-energy grooves and lyrical melodies.
