We’re thrilled to welcome Hannah White back to The Bear Club. Hannah kicked off 2023 by gracing the winner's podium at the Americana Music Association UK Awards, where she claimed the coveted title of UK Song of the Year with her goosebump-inducing track 'Car Crash.' Fast forward to 2024, and she's riding high with a widely acclaimed new album soaring up the charts.
She's also the driving force behind a highly successful crowdfunding campaign to save the independent music venue she runs in South London with her husband, Keiron Marshall—a cause that's naturally close to all our hearts!
This London-based singer-songwriter is always chasing new things, and her latest album, Sweet Revolution, is a testament to her ever-expanding career. Released in November 2023, the album expands upon the outstanding Americana noir ambiance of her widely praised 2022 release, About Time.
Americana may be a broad category (and not always the most descriptive label), but Hannah's music—while leaning towards country—incorporates elements of folk, rock, blues, and even pop, delivering a real emotional hit.
The opening single from her latest album, 'Chains Of Ours,' is irresistibly catchy, with a percussive mood that has drawn comparisons to a modern-day Fleetwood Mac. Hannah joined Paul Carrack as a special guest on his 2023 autumn UK tour, and prior to that, she and her band lit up the festival circuit, making appearances at Glastonbury, Black Deer Festival, The Long Road Festival, and more.
Unfortunately, two members of Hannah’s band are unable to appear due to personal circumstances beyond their control. Hannah will be appearing as a duo with Keiron Marshall, providing an opportunity to enjoy her songs in a more intimate and stripped-back set. The duo have just returned from a successful tour of Norway, and the UK tour was recently given a plug by Cerys Matthews on her BBC Radio 6 Music show.
