James Jay Lewis is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has graced some of the largest stages across the world as part of three of the biggest bands to come out of Liverpool (well, apart from you know who!)
He performed with cult indie band The La’s, played bass for the band Cast, and he’s currently the lead guitarist with The Zutons. He was also frontman of the underrated Liverpool band Cracatilla, who toured the UK in the early ‘00s.
James’s two solo albums showcase his range and influences, from the largely acoustic Back to the Fountain to the low-fi indie garage blues sound of his latest album, Waiting for the World. He plays solo on both six and twelve-string guitar, harmonica, and drums, and his live shows are building him a growing reputation as a class performer in his own right.
Now, James is poised to grace stages across the UK, sharing his distinctive sound and showcasing tracks from his back catalogue, along with fresh new material.
“Back to the Fountain is a superb example of the album as artistic statement”
