KARA GRAINGER

Some people just have music running through their veins… Kara Grainger's music has taken her all around the globe. From her inner city beginnings in Sydney Australia, she’s since performed and toured in Japan, Indonesia, India and Switzerland, and throughout Europe, the UK, and the US.

Kara has released four records since moving to the States. Her latest album reached #2 on the blues and roots charts, and her song ‘Secret Soul’ from the album Grand and Green River received the award for best song at the Independent Acoustic music awards.

Her soulful vocals and unique style of slide guitar, along with her honest approach to songwriting, have led to many collaborations and opportunities. She’s opened the show for Peter Frampton, Jonny Lang, and Buddy Guy, and has played guitar for acts such as Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard), Steve Prestwich (Cold Chisel) and Jackie Bristow.

Kara Grainger (guitar, vocals), Patrick Lovett (drums), Marcel Stranis (bass), Sam Montero (Hammond organ).

Grainger’s voice is quite some instrument itself: technically formidable but equally comfortable expressing warmth, vulnerability, longing and pain
— Blues Blast Magazine
As disciplined as she is vocally, her slide guitar work is wild
— Glide Magazine
