This classic piano trio is led by London-based, Hungarian jazz pianist Mátyás Gayer, who is emerging as one of the leaders of his generation. This award-winning young musician successfully forges his distinctive style and musical voice from the greatness of the jazz piano tradition.
A two-time Montreux Jazz Piano Competition finalist, Mátyás is a regular performer on the London and European jazz scenes. He has collaborated with jazz greats such as Eddie Henderson, Scott Hamilton, Rick Margitza, Don Menza, and Jim Rotondi.
Mátyás released his first album, Never Ending Story, in 2018, with NYC drummer extraordinaire Pete Van Nostrand. He recently recorded a live album at Pizza Express Soho with Don Braden and a studio album with Scott Hamilton.
Joining Mátyás are legends of the UK jazz scene (and possibly the country’s finest rhythm section), bassist Dave Green, and drummer Steve Brown. Last year, they released the wonderful album, Westbourne Park, and this creative, lyrical, and sophisticated trio promises a night of beautiful music.
“His sophisticated style is in the mainstream tradition but with a distinctive approach that sets it apart”
